The Visitor Safety Group is delighted to offer our members the opportunity to take part in E-Learning and online training experience.

‘Managing Visitor Safety’ is an interactive e-learning programme designed to teach the Visitor Safety Group’s approach to managing visitor safety.

Completion of all four courses will provide a good understanding of visitor safety management and writing site risk assessments.

The programme has four interactive courses, each building on the previous one. While you can explore individual courses as needed, we recommend that you take them in sequence. It would be difficult to produce a visitor risk assessment after course 4, without knowledge of the key concepts covered in the first three courses.

E-Learning Trial – Information for Members

We are pleased to invite members to take part in a trial of our new e-learning package.

To ensure the trial is well-managed and delivers the most value, access will initially be coordinated through your organisation’s primary contact. These contacts have been emailed directly.

How the Trial Works

This initial trial roll-out provides the opportunity to benefit from the learnings and help shape how it is used in the future. As part of the trial:

  • Larger Member Organisations will receive 4 credits each
  • Smaller Member Organisations will receive 2 credits each
  • The Primary Contact for each organisation should identify those staff members to undertake training and provide details via the pro-forma provided to the VSG Secretariat by 30th April 2026.
  • The VSG Secretariat will then enrol participants on the 1st May, and they will directly receive communications and links to the e-learning programme.
  • All courses must be completed within the two-month trial period i.e. by 30th June 2026.

How the Credits Work

The platform operates using Active Learner Credits, which come with specific constraints:

  • An Active Learning Credit lasts 30 calendar days from the point the first course has been commenced by the leaner
  • Each learner should aim to use a single credit to complete all the required courses within this 30-calendar day period – email reminders will be issued.
  • This approach ensures you and VSG gain maximum value from each credit

Tracking and Oversight

  • Participants will receive a certificate of completion for each course and for the programme (once all four courses are complete).
  • Primary Contacts will receive a summary of courses undertaken / completed by learners from their organisation

Looking Ahead

Following the trial, we will ask for your feedback via survey, including your anticipated e-learning needs over the next two years.

This will allow us to make an informed decision on how best to provide ongoing access to e-learning.
